What is a Stroke?

Stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures and bleeds. It prevents the brain tissues from receiving oxygen and nutrients. Due to the lack of oxygen, brain cells and tissue begin to die within minutes. Stroke recovery can take weeks, months or even years, it is different from one person to another. Some people recover completely, on the other hand others have long-term or lifelong disabilities.

What are the types of Strokes?

1. Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) is similar to a stroke, It's sometimes called a "mini-stroke." It involves a blood clot that typically reverses on its own. 

2. Ischemic stroke involves a blockage caused by either a clot or plaque in the artery. This is the most common type; about 80% of strokes are ischemic.

3. Hemorrhagic stroke is caused by either a break or bleeding of blood vessels that seeps into the brain.

Physical: 

The effects of every stroke are different, depending on which part of the brain was damaged.

2. Will I need to return regularly for follow-ups?
